| The ski resort of the Sierra
Nevada mountains is approximately 80 minutes drive from our Luxury villa in
the foothills of the Sierra Lujar mountains, available for rent 52 weeks of
the year.
The resort boasts some excellent runs for all ages and skill levels. There is a nursery slope for beginners which is very gentle and ideal for adults and children who are new to skiing. The more adventurous will be heading for the red and black runs which can be quite challenging even for the expert. Intermediate skiers are well catered for with a good selection of green and blue runs. There are 39 runs, 69 kilometres in total available to ski in the Sierra Nevada so there is always a new area to explore. There are 2 gondolas, 12 chair lifts and 5 ski lifts which carry 31,965 skiers per hour, this efficient system helps to minimise queuing. Weekdays tend to be less busy as local tend to hit the slopes at weekends. |

| The Village is
accessed easily by road, when you arrive park in the large underground car
park which holds 2,880 cars. You will find there are people selling gloves,
sunglasses etc and also offering ski hire and lessons, all in the car park
so it is very easy to just turn up and ski. We use a shop called Patagonia
which is located opposite the walking exit from the car park, they are very
helpful and offer skis, boots and sticks for approx 20 euros a day.
Snowboarding is popular in the Sierra Nevada resort, conditions are often excellent and there is a half pipe available for surfers. A few shops specialise in snowboarding and have a good range of products to buy. When you are not skiing you can enjoy the view from the gondolas, visit the numerous restaurants at Borreguiles or just relax with a hot chocolate and read a book if you are a non skier, the views are amazing so you wont get bored. |

| The ski passes
are good value and fully automatic, simply keep the credit card sized pass
in your pocket and the turnstiles let you through as you approach them.

Relax by the log fires and enjoy the stunning views from all aspects. It is also an excellent location for hill walking so in the winter and spring months you can ski in the mountains, visit the beach or walk the many tracks in the area.
