The villa at Lujar is approximately 60 minutes drive from the City of Granada which combines both modern living and shopping with ancient and fascinating history.  Granada is home to the amazing Alhambra Palace, a beautiful castle and gardens which can be visited at all times of the year. We advise booking prior to your visit as there are only a limited number of visitors allowed on the historic site.

Construction started on the fortress in 1238. Muhammad Al-Ahmar, began with the restoration of the old fortress which had been in existence since the 9th century. The Muslim Palace features intricate stone carvings and a fascinating insight to the lives of its inhabitants. Visitors to Granada are only a short drive away from the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada mountains which provide a dramatic backdrop to the Palace. If you visit in late autumn through to the spring you can hire skis or snowboards and lift passes and enjoy the slopes. If you just want to visit for a few hours, it is a great place to go and throw snowballs and enjoy the stunning views.

There are also numerous lakes in the region of Granada which are perfect for watersports in the summer months. The water gets nice and warm by August and is perfect for water skiing, wakeboarding windsurfing and canoeing. The lakes are quiet all year round so you may be the only people there! Simply let us know if you are interested in enjoying the watersports facilities available as we can arrange for an instructor to take you waterskiing or wakeboarding.
